December 2010
Last two days Ben has been showering Frank and me with kisses and I'm LOVING every minute of it!!! He gives us kisses out of the blue, he'll kiss my arm, face, leg, head. I was sitting on the couch last night, he came up to me and kissed my head and face! I was melting! It made my day! He is such a sweet, loving little boy!!!
Cinnamon Dough Ornaments
December 2010
We made cinnamon dough ornaments again this year, gingerbread men and two round ones. Hannah and Abby had lots of fun mixing it all together, they were entertaining themselves for a while! I need to do this year-round! We didn't paint the ornaments last night, we'll give it a try one day this week. I was afraid of messing them up. I broke the leg off one of the gingerbread men! Oops! I had to ditch him. Thought Hannah wouldn't notice! Yeah, right! That was the first thing she asked me about when she got home from school today. She knew there were five of them this morning. Hannah is like her daddy, likes to investigate! LOL

Halloween 2010
Hannah was a scary person, Abby a cheerleader, Ben a pirate...Abby's pom poms broke the day before, we didn't have time to get new ones. Our neighborhood had a Blockfest Party. It was really nice! A lot of people came, all kinds of good food! The kids went on a hayride, and then trick-or-treating. This was Ben's first year to actually go trick-or-treating, he did so well! I was so proud of him! He was holding his baseball basket just right, he didn't fall down one time. After they put candy in his basket, he kept staring at them, waiting for them to fill it up! LOL I told him we only get a few pieces of candy. Then he said "Thank You!". He was so cute, I wanted to eat him up!
FCS Grandparents Day
October 2010
Abby's class celebrated "Grandparents Day" at the end of October. Mrs. Susan, Michele T.'s mom, came to celebrate this special day with Abby. Abby was the happiest little girl on the planet that day! When she saw Mrs. Susan come in, Abby jumped out of her seat, gave her a big hug, and wouldn't let go of her! That was so sweet! Abby misses her Grandma Jo & Grandpa Henry, and Grandma Judy so very much, she's very attached to them. She talks so lovingly about her grandparents. They all live out-of-state and I wish we could see them more often, but it's hard because of the distance. Mrs. Susan was sitting next to Abby helping her make a photo frame, and ice cookies. Abby had her head on Mrs. Susan's arm, just loving her. Then Mrs. Susan took her to the Book Fair and bought her a book called "Lost and Found". It came with a CD so we can listen to it in the car. Grandma Judy and Jo sent Abby money too. She was able to buy two more books, one for Hannah and one for Ben. After the Book Fair, Mrs. Susan went back to work, Abby and I went to Mothers Morning Out (MMO) pick Ben up. On the way to MMO, I asked Abby what was her favorite part of the "Grandparents Day". I thought she was going to say the cookies. She said "Mrs. Susan!". So sweet! And I got teary-eyed again, because I knew how much it meant to Abby to have Mrs. Susan there with her on that special day. Thank you, Mrs. Susan! We love you!

Mt. Pleasant, SC
November 2010
I'm a big Dorothea Benton Frank fan! A friend of mine, Whitney, has introduced me to her books back in July. I always see Whitney carrying D. B. Frank's books around, so I wanted to read one of them to see if I liked it. I picked "Sullivan's Island" first. I could not put the book down!!! I read it in two days! I took bunch of potty breaks those two days (locked myself in the bathroom!), I couldn't wait to read another chapter. I think we had chicken nuggets for supper two days in a row! The kids didn't complain! LOL...Her books are amazing! I love her writing style, characters and story lines. You feel like you are part of the book, part of the family. All her stories take place in Charleston area, on a plantation or in a beautiful Lowcountry home. You can almost smell the salty air of sea, feel the sand under your feet, and see yourself crossing the dunes for a nice, long walk on the beach. There is one restaurant that she mentions a lot in her books, it's called "Station 22" on Sullivans Island. I wanted to go so bad! So I loaded the kids up on Saturday morning and we spent the whole day in Mt. Pleasant. Frank was at a football game in Greenville NC, with Jason and couple of other friends. We went to Jack's Cosmic Dogs first for lunch. It's a hotdog joint right off Rt. 17. I read about it in Southern Living magazine. The kids and I both said that those were the best hot dogs we've ever had! I had mine with blue cheese cole slaw and sweet potato mustard, the kids had theirs plain. After lunch, we stopped by Charles Pinckney's National Historic Site, across the street from Boone Hall Plantation. Charles Pinckney was one of the founding fathers of our Constitution. The kids had so much fun being outside, chasing each other and collecting leaves. It was a gorgeous day, 59F, sunny, no wind. We went inside Pinckney's house, and got our National Park Passport stamped. Then we went to Ft. Moultrie on Sullivan's Island. We went through all the underground tunnels, looked at all the cannons, climbed up on the observation deck. What a beautiful view of Charleston Harbor, and Ft. Sumter! After that, we drove over to Isle of Palms, looking at the beautiful ocean front homes. We parked at Isle of Palms County Park, and walked over to the beach. We stayed on the beach for a little while, and just played in the sand. It was just so nice and peaceful. Then we drove back to Sullivan's Island for dinner at "Station 22". We sat on the porch, we were the first ones there, they open up at 5:30pm. I had fried oyesters, and the children had chicken tenders. They serve fresh bread with cheese sauce on it! It was out of this world! Abby and I couldn't get enough of it! It was so good! After dinner, we drove back home, and I could tell the kids had so much fun going different places.
