Soccer Time!

Hannah is playing soccer again this winter. It's a short season, 6 games, all on Saturdays. So glad the soccer fields are at ESAB, right around the corner from our house. That's much better than driving across town to FCS for Upward Bound. We did that one year. There are eight players on the team, 3 girls and 5 boys.

So far they've played three games, their record is 0-3. They are trying hard, they just need to practice more. The main thing is that they are truly having fun.

Happy 30th Birthday Jason!

February 2011
My husband's younger brother Jason turned 30 this month! He is officially OVER THE HILL (like the rest of us!)! Jason lives in Greenville, NC. We drove up today to meet him and the rest of the family for lunch at Hibachi Grill adn Buffet (Chinese food). We had a great time, so nice to see everyone and just catch up! Tracy and Kevin were there, with Cameron and Carson, Chris and Lorri with Tiffany and Kristina, Bud, Judy, Lisa and TJ with Sierra, Brenden and Savannah, and work friends. We gave Jason some "anti-aging pills", a hemorrhoids cream, some aspirin. He'll need it! LOL...I hope we all get together again  next year, this would be a nice tradition.

Circus is in town!!!

And yes - the elephants are here too!

Today was Hannah's and Abby's first time at circus! And they had a blast!!! It was truly a magical circus experience! The name of the program was "Zing Zang Zoom" - Gold Tour. They performed at Florence Civic Center. We went with our friends Whitney, Jonathan and their daugher Ansley. One of Whitney's family members won a couple of tickets and she asked us to join them. We are so glad that we had an opporunity to go! Ben stayed home with Frank this time, but I know next year he'll be able to enjoy it. The last time I went to circus was in 1993 or 1994, in Charleston, WV (when I lived in Montgomery). That was a loooong time ago.
Thrillusionist David DaVinci did a lot of unbelievable illusions and mind-blowing
transformation. At one point he attempted to escape a straitjacket while suspended three stories in the air above a den of lions. And he made it! There was a white lion (never seen a white one before) and a couple of lionesses in the cage. The trainer had them hopping from chair to chair, lining up next to each other on the floor. DaVinci did a couple of routines with exotic birds, Macaws and Cockatoos. I was reading on-line that he is the only thrillusionist who performs with eight rare and colorful birds.

I don't think Hannah and Abby blinked once during the Puppies Show. There were about 10 dogs, smallest to biggest, the biggest one was a puddle. They were jumping high, doing back flips, walking on their hind legs! They were so cute! There were three Asian elephants, each sitting in their own chair, just like a human would, with their left foot up! That was too funny! The Hairdaring Duo, two girls, hanging from their hair high up in the air! Not from a rope, but their hair! That was awesome! And much, much more...
Now I can't wait for circus to come back next year! Thank you Ringling Bros. and Barnium & Bailey for "The Gratest Show On Earth" indeed!
